Solitude a rare pleasure

A short film exploring a concept of tranquility through solitude. Shot in late September on a very windy beach in South Wales whilst taking a break.
The late afternoon light was very flat with the distance shots full of sea haze, I got the feeling of not being present yet observing private isolated moments.

I've left the film purposely grainy with very little post.

A Journey of Colour

A Journey of Colour from Jonathan Fox on Vimeo.

A Journey of Colour was produced for Central Colour a National print company based in Nottingham. With clients ranging from Bentley, Jaguar Land Rover and Paul Smith it was felt that the film should be shot in a documentary style to portray Central Colour’s passion for industry and to highlight the quality of print that their clients expect.

Many thanks go to David Fortune, Richard Limer and the staff at Central Colour for the help and support in producing this film.

The film was shot using the Nikon D800 and two prime lenses, the Nikor 50mm 1.4 and a Nikor 60mm 2.8 Macro. The final colour grading was archieved with Filmconvert

Sound track: Long Way To Let Go

Philip Blooms Two Day Workshop

Last week I spent down in London on one of Philip Blooms Two Day Workshops. The time was spent on the sets of “The Bill” at Wimbledon Film & Television studios. The theme of the workshop was Story is King.
A challenge was set at lunchtime on the first day base on “Suspense” using the  sets (a police station). We had two hours to film all material and then over night produce a thirty second reel.

The Isaacs

I set out in the morning to Stoke Golding airfield in Leicestershire. Initially to film a drone and ended up on something totally different, must never miss an opportunity. The Issacs Fury came in with a group of retired BA pilots off on a days jolly for the southern counties.

What I found so interesting was the beautiful worn look of originality and of course nostalgia.

You set out to do one thing and end up doing something totally different .............. love it :)

Isaacs Fury II by Chance

Spent the day at Stoke Golding Airfield to film a drone but things didn't go to plan. As luck would have it a group of retired BA pilots turned up on a jolly.
One of the aircraft was a beautiful little Isaacs Fury II....... So change of plan from the original I pointed the cameras at the Fury.

This is a frame grab from the edit in progress, time allowing there should be a short published within the next couple of days :)

Snowy Weekend

It was great to get out over the weekend, loads of closed roads around the area but that didn't stop me from taking Maddy out for her Sunday walk around Bradgate Park.

The snow was so heavy it was bringing the trees down

I'm glad I wasn't driving a car, I even ended up having to pull a Landrover Discovery out of a five foot drift. He'd tried to drive through it, Landrovers are good but there are limits.

With the roads so quiet and nobody about it was great just to wonder about and coming across some jems
