What do you see

What we see in an image can greatly effect what we think and how we perceive the would around us. Take the image below. A winter stroll an a park in Madrid......... or venerability.

Twenty five years ago yes a stroll in the park, society has and is changing our perceptions.

When I'm not traveling and on my own I will go into empty box mode try and clear the mind.

As a result still with camera in hand you begin to look at things with a simplistic eye.

I'm not all about being retrospective here are some images taken the last few weeks.

What do we class as Personal Vol.1

The images below were taken around the early eighties mainly of people around me at the time.

Somebody asked me the other day do I feel uncomfortable publishing these images of my past and I had to think for a bit before I could answer.

"If you'd asked that question ten years ago then I would of said yes..............reason the memories of that time were still strong"

I think having a strong association with the images on such a close level at the time then yes they are very personal to me.

Now I think of them as studies of the moment, more along the line of art looking form the quality of the light and form.

Yes I can still remember when where and what but with more of insight, I'm know look for more in these images not just a "snap shot"

The three thing that our live revolved around in the mid eighties. THE FACE and Neville Brody a completely new language in magazine design still very relevant today. The rest well what can I say.

Whats This Blog About Then?

This blog is really all about thoughts on images that surround all of use in every day life and how that effects the way we act.

I spend a great deal of time on the road with my cameras in many different countries, all ways on my own with time to think when on the move.

You see and hear a wide cross section of culture and to begin to understand them is very difficult with the little time have in them.

Why Picture 180

Why Picture 180?...........180 degrees............ always moving forward.

My job takes me all over the world photographing industrial equipment for a large corporate based in Europe.

When time allows I will grab the camera for my own purposes. The image below was taken in the Joshua Tree National Park California, just passing through you might say.

This is were the problem begins, never in one place long enough to understand fully what's around me.

I will elaborate over the next week or so, but for now it's 2:00 am and it's time to crash out.
